About Ampwise

Your estimating department, without the overhead

Ampwise Estimating provides electrical takeoffs and estimates to electrical contractors across the United States. We work as an extension of your estimating team, whether you need support on a single bid or an estimator you can rely on every week.

Every estimate is built on your labor units, in your format and in the pricing software you already use, then checked before it reaches you. Beyond the takeoff, we handle the work around the bid, from RFQs and vendor quote leveling to GC scope questions and RFIs, so your team can focus on winning work. We keep Pacific-time hours to meet US bid deadlines.

Beyond the takeoff

  • RFQs & vendor quotesWe send out RFQs, collect supplier pricing and level the quotes for you.
  • GC coordinationWhen the scope is unclear, we call the GC and get an answer before bid day.
  • RFIsWe write and submit RFIs, then track the responses.
  • Change ordersWe price addenda and change orders and keep a record of each one.

FAQ

Before you send plans

Don't see your question? Put it in the quote form and we'll answer with your proposal.

How is pricing set?

Each project is quoted up front based on the size of the drawing set and the scope you need. You get a fixed fee before any work starts.

How fast is turnaround?

It depends on project size and your bid date. We confirm a delivery date with the quote, and rush turnaround is available for tight bid schedules.

Can you use my labor units?

Yes. Send your labor unit database or a past estimate and we'll match it. Otherwise we use industry-standard labor units and current material pricing.

What do you need from me?

The full electrical drawing set, Division 26/27/28 specs, any addenda and your bid due date. Architectural backgrounds help for lighting and device layouts.

Are my plans kept confidential?

Yes. Drawings and pricing are used only for your estimate, and we're happy to sign an NDA before you send anything.
